Provide a 2D layout package allowing the basic design to quickly be determined before taking it to 3D. It should be capable of blocks and import of dxf and or dwg.
You know, something like AutoCAD or Draftsight?
Someone suggested Othena Pro (or something like that), but I haven't been able to find any info on it.
We are using Wildfire 2.0.
TIA
Nevermind, got it. Just turn the curves layer on, then use Sketch > Edge > Use. Then right click all the new sketch entities and change linestyle to centerline.
I'd like to show a sketch used to create a round protrusion cut as a centerline on the detail drawing. The centerline is needed to convey what the shown sketch dimensions are dimensioning.
In some 3D software, this is a simple "project" command, but I cannot find a similar command anywhere in...
no luck... Pro/E insists the curves used to originally define the trajectory may not be redefined. Probably a corrupted file. Guess I will have to delete everything including the generic, and start over. Working this Saturday & Sunday? Why yes, yes I am...
J,
I'll try modifying in the generic and see if that helps. Also, yes, I was using cntl to select all four datum curves. Will try the shift which should make them into a chain.

This is a fairly common occurence among users at this location. When it happens, you lose everything up to the last save.
The problem normally occurs after re-entering a sketch to modify sketch dimensions. Double-clicking on a dimension may or may not result in an immediate exit. It is...
J,
I received an incomplete model from someone else. It has most of the swept blends already done, but lacks a couple more.
The test model was done outside of the generic (not related in anyway), and it worked.
The swept blends were created at the instance level. Basically, the generic is...
Thanks J, that's what I tried to do, but I can't show the dimensions of another sketch while in sketch mode.
For example, Feature 1 is a cylinder made from sketch 1 which is a circle having a single dimension "sd0" = 100.
Feature 2 is a hole thru cylinder made from sketch 2 which is a circle...
I've inherited a model that has several swept blends, defined by cylindrical equations. However, when I try to add additional datum curves, or try to redefine the trajectory of existing swept blends, Pro/E acts like these curves cannot be selected.
To waste more time, I started a separate file...
In most 3D cad packages, this is easily accomplished by clicking the dimension from the previous sketch (as shown on the model) when editing the dimensions of the new sketch. Does anyone know how to do this in Pro/E?
