Gentleman,
1. Is there a way to link text and a sketch box around the text together, so they move together?
2. Can I then intern dimension to the text?
3. Can I dimension a block of multiple entities as one whole unit to move and place in a drawing together with an overall X, Y placement...
Eric,
Thanks.
However, you can only add attachments to non-solidworks entities.
I am "converting" the CAD KEY prints to a .DWG or .sldrw first so I can edit them, if need be, in a Solid works environment. We are trying to phase out CAD KEY.
This "conversion" make them a solid works entity...
Gentlemen,
I am looking for a way to link imported CADKEY "dumb" prints to "new" solid models of the same parts created in Solidworks, so the dumb print will follow and be linked to the "new" solid model in PDM.
I do not need the dumb print to change with the model, these are old prints and...
The material is annealed...We are having good luck with increased feedrates...The theoreticals for chip loading are working out pretty close to what we are seeing at the machine...
Can anyone suggest "from experience" a good 1/4 to 3/8 roughing end mill to machine 17-4 PH SS???
I recieved a couple of GARR VRX series (latest and greatest) tools that did not work as advertised. The tool is wearing very, very quickly and building up chips very fast. These two things are kind...
I can not seem to be able to put individual feature sketches onto a layer. I am trying to do this so I can use my sketches as tool paths for CNC programming.
I can put all solid geometry on layers, turn them off, and "show" the sketch, this works but doesn't seem to be the best way to do it...
Once you place a dimension, you can alter what it is "measuring" by moving the mouse off center give it a try and you will see what happens.
Your diameter question, right click on the dimension, and you have the option to change it from radius to diameter, to linear...
I have a real newbie question here:
Where/how do I setup solidworks to automatically give me the change dimension dialog box immediately after I create a dimension, instead of having to double click the dimension to change it?
Having a brian block, thanks for the help...
I share your feeling about PDM works...
This would not be in the place of PDM.This VANTAGE software would be in addition to it. It is more for scheduling, costing jobs, and inventory type things...It would use PDM for BOM info when building up assembly and shop orders, routes, etc...
My company is in the middle of updating our PLM software to Vantage. Currently we have a few non linked systems to do BOM,Routes, Cost role up, etc...
Does anyone have any experience with "exporting"/linking Solidworks information (drawing information mostly) to a PLM software of this type...
