Is Mathcad 13 compatible with Vista?

I can't get it to work on on Vista 64 bit version, even when installed as an admin.

Is it possible to machine a pattern

Is 1/2 a degree tolerance to difficult to achieve with a boring bar setup?

Is it possible to machine a pattern

Is it possible to machine a pattern of parallel holes that have the following criteria, and if so how easy/difficult is it? 1. Material: Cast medium strength steel 2. Hole dimensions: 9.5” long, 1.5” diameter 3. Hole tolerance: LC3 fit = 0 to .0026” diametrical tolerance for a tolerance zone...

Moment about Instantaneous Center of Rotation???

The other way to solve the situation is to sum the moments about the point of mechanical roatation. The external force and the reaction forces in the linkage (connecting rod in this case) caused by that force create a couple acting about the mechanical point of rotation.

Moment about Instantaneous Center of Rotation???

I have a mechanism that can be modeled as a crank-slider mechanism. An external force acts on the rigid body, that is the modeled as the slider, causes the body to rotate and translate while it is translating along the slider path. The rotation is equivalent to the rotation of the connecting rod...

2million pound stteel roller, a flate steel plate, & hertzian stress

I'm looking for good reference literature on hertzian stress theory and empirical data that I can apply to the following cylinder slow rolling on flat plate configuration. Cylinder: Diameter = 100" Length = 40" Load on cylinder = 2 million pounds Plate: width = 40" thickness =...

    Digital Filtering: How to Resources

I'm struggling through reference papers on digital filtering. Can anyone recommend introductory information resources on this subject? My application is to filter out noise from strain gauge data. I'm using a NI data acquisition pc card, LabView 5.1 Basic version, and MathCad 8 Professional...

condensation on hvac ducts and other metal objects in ceiling plenium.

I don’t know about the negative building pressure, it may be required for hospitals by some health code. The building pressure can certainly be controlled by the HVAC system fans if it has the capacity to do so. The moisture can also be controlled by the HVAC system if it was designed properly...

    How to simulate impact force?

It is difficult to simulate the shear force from an impact force of a desired magnitude. Materials have different material properties for the very short time duration of an impulse force. I know for aluminum you can look up what the dynamic modulus is. If you review your principles of impulse...

Mech Prop of old forged steel shaft, yr 1912 USA

Does anyone know the approximate mechanical properties of forged steel operating machinery shafts around the year 1912 from Strobel Steel Construcion Co., Chicago Ill? That is all the information known on the technical drawing.

    Torsion Strain measurements: wireless?

I want to measure strain realtime on a 6" diameter rotating shaft. I was thinking it would be nice if there was a strain gauge system that could use radio frequency (go bluetooth) to transmit the volatage output data from my full wheatstone bridge to a storage medium. Does any one know of a...

    ASTM A668 CL. D & ASTM B22 Alloy 911:coeficient of friction

Thanks. The best I can find in reading so far is a range of .08 to .30, .16 being a good average value for the coeficient of f between the forged, normalized and tempered alloy carbon steel, and the bearing material of bronze casting.

    ASTM A668 CL. D & ASTM B22 Alloy 911:coeficient of friction

ASTM A668 CL. D & ASTM B22 Alloy 911. Does anyone know the coeficient of dry and very thin film friction between these two materials?
