We need to buy a new air cooled water chiller for our chemical plant in Texas. The water flow in the system is 150 gpm so I have calculated that we need a 100 TN chiller.
CHILLER SIZE=150 GPMx60x8.33x12*x1.15**=102 TN=1,224,000 BTU
* delta T
** security factor in case we want to expand the...
Do you guys know if it is legal to have a spring pressure relief valve just before a rupture disk. The set pressure of the SRV would be lower than the one of the rupture disk
Thanks for your help on this one
We have several centrifugal pumps in our process pumping liquid at high temperatures back into the reactor. These pumps get really hot so we use cooling water to cool them down. The problem is that we cannot send this cooling water back into the cooling water return line because there is not...
thanks for your answer JLSeagull
We need a new building where to put our new control room. We already have a DCS and all the wiring, communication systems and electrical work is going to be done in house.
The control room has to be big enough to fit 10-15 operators that monitor 20 reactors...
I work in a chemical plant and we want to relocate our control rooms, they are too close from our production facilities.
Does anybody know a company in the houston area that can do this work for us?
Thanks for your help on this one
We use a centrifugal pump to direct our chill water into the system. We have a pressure indicator at the outlet of the pump. Can I use this pressure as my TDH?
thanks for your help on this one
you are correct...
This exchanger is in 180,000 gallon reactor where we normally run petroleum based products at temperatures of 400-450F. As mentioned before the exchanger is a shell a tube exchager of 3000square feet and we are using hot oil (exxon caloria at 500F) to heat the product.
The...
Dear All,
One of our exchanger builds solids every 1-2 months and we have to clean it regularly. Does anybody know what is the best way to prevent the formation of these solids?
The exchanger is a shell and tube heat exchanger
Best regards
You are quite right, I did not give you much information.
Our reactor is a vertical one (capacity 180.000 pounds aprox), the product is pumped from the RX to the external heat exchanger, and back to the reactor. At the shell side of the external heat exchanger we have the hot oil that is...
Thanks Latexman, can you tell me a bit more about why the answer is no (any article, book). According to one of the heat transfer books I am reading, agitators reduce de delta T, therefore the use of agitators increase the heating time...
