    You can get a generator which can run on a variety of fuels. I set up a gasoline one, then added a propane/natural gas conversion. A good safety backup for the grid here in TX. Of course, if the natural gas goes down, our gas heater does as well, but I guess I can run a few electric space heaters.

    Depending on the device you are trying to charge through USB, you may have to provide a specific signal on the data lines to get it to charge. There are ICs that will do this for you, but as 3DDave pointed out, if the FT232H board doesn't have it on there, you will need some hardware changes.

    I have used the LTC4359 with good luck, but it is only rated down to 4V. You could check out the LM74610-Q1. They are both AEC-Q100. You may get more responses on the Electronics areas, even though you are looking for Automotive rated parts.

    When I tried it with a cell phone app, I got different readings each time I measured it. And other phones read a bit differently from mine. I don't have any other suggestion for how to do it, just that it wasn't as useful as I was hoping.

    Looking at both WHO and CDC definitions of infant mortality posted here, they both start at conception. Do they count abortions in those totals? Or do they retroactively become non infants and not counted?
