I would like to visually examine the mixing in a 70L glass reactor to determine overall blend time and identify high/low mixing zones. I would like to purchase some color tracers, probably something that is water (or methanol) soluble, viscous, and highly visible. I don't yet have a procedure...
Dry bromine is added to a C-22 reactor that contains sodium hydroxide in methanol. I'm sure there will be some water hanging around with the NaOH pellets. The reaction to the "bromine" species should be fast, so infact, I should have only very low concentrations of bromine in the reactor...
