Aah, there are some idea's. I just arrived home from work and I'm afraid I only got a 2006 license myself so I cant open the part. But I'll check it out first thing tomorrow morning.
I'll upload the part with the helix and the cutting tool according the above description also, would be a great...
Hm, thanks for the quick response.
Although I'm afraid this is not really helping me, I'll be happy if I got SW08 in April/May and this part should have been made already. Our machines software did not seem to have the functionality we expected it to have so now I need a good model of the...
Hi There!
I've got a problem creating a worm-like part the way I want it. Basically I want to create something like this:

The problem is; I do not want to simply cut-revolve a circle around a helix with a variable pitch like in this part. I...
Funny, I have been working for TI for about 2 years and I totally read it like IT ;)
More on the subject, I'm still really doubting to go over to SW2007. At the moment I work at a customer 3 days a week in SW2007 and I do my own projects in SW2006. My customers computer hardware is really up a...
Just a quick thingy that came to mind.
The pattern you used to create the holes in the original part could probably also been done in the sketch lvl instead of making a feature pattern.
So, you could create a sketch containing only points of the entire pattern, which should be just as much...
How about creating a sketch in the part with the holes with only dots in the centers of each hole and then use sketch-driven pattern?

Wouldn;t it be easier to only model the "tail" side?
This made me think though, I'm now gonna model a Euro to use with my product pictures, bye bye match good old match and pencil ;)

Yeah, it's an awful lot of work. The outer cam-line is very complex and this is why I am looking for a shortcut to convert the entire cam-path to a smaller diameter.
So anything that might help would be really appriciated.

Hey everybody :)
I've ran into a scetching problem. I am working on a cam mechanism where the cam-disk itself is mounted solid. Around it are cars running on a track in circles. Mounted with linear guides there are 2 cam-followers that run through a cavity in the top-side of the cam. These 2...
The part is clean. In fact, I made a new part for my tests so there surely wasn't a color on it. Next to that, it can be handy sometimes to change the color of a feature in a part. Like when you make pictures for reports or to stress a certain feature has changed or as a reminder to take a...
