    I DON'T WANT TO APPROVE . . .

Thank you for your comments. That what I want to do is to approve new changes ( better ventilation system) but the risk still exists, ignition source still exists based on existing equipment not provided for classified area. I found that existing ANALYZER BUILDING is in service, but no stamped...

ABANDONED BENZENE PIPELINE AS CABLE CONDUIT

The Owner is preparing to use abandoned Benzene Pipeline as metal conduit for 600 Volts power cables, all inside industrial area.Pipeline is very old, abandoned for many years. I don’t like this idea, but I have to check something : (1) Can we accept abandoned benzene pipeline, cleaned up with...

ground resistance for a valve control house

the reason for your problem is soil resistivity. you have a granite, with high soil resistivity what you didn't expect before . That type of soil need a special grounding procedure, not just to installed more and more ground rods. (example - provide rods more away where is better soil etc.)

    GROUNDING CALCULATION

Owner is preparing to make new Communication Tower inside Power Plant, too far from any Grounding Grid. Tower must be grounded with 4 ground rods /square layout/. That what must be provided is Ground Resistance R = 5 Ohms minimum. Soil is good - no sand, no stone. If Ground Resistance is R > 5...

    AREA CLASSIFICATION - Hydrogen Ventilation

Project provides an installation of a small building where HYDROCARBON ANALYZER has to be installed. Hydrogen has to be used as "fuel" for the HYDROCARBON ANALYZER providing an ionization of the gas samples. Small vent-chimney is installed on the top of the building. MY QUESTION ...

HYDROCARBON ANALYZER - HAZARDOUS AREA CLASSIFICATION

Kiribanda and jbartos. Thank you for comments. Probably you didn't understand my question. (1) area provided for installation of analyzer is non-hazard area but (2) as soon as analyzer is instaled there including a pipe with the liquids containing hydrocarbons, that area becomes hazardous area...
