What happens to the pump then? Are we talking about slow rate to failure or is to total catastrophic failure. If it’s catastrophic, what sort of pressures and speeds is it running at?
I have been asked to find at if these types of pumps can fail catastrophically and at what speed and pressure.
Has anyone any experience with earth bonding of PTFE Lined pipework in relation to the static charge build up in the pipe due to the fluid in the PTFE lining?

I agree with you LitleInch it is a small amount of testing. We have been discussing this in house and mainly it’s down to the speed in which we can get this inspection done (I.e. a night breakdown and plant needs to be up and running) as we don't have the skills in house to do it.

How does anyone get round the section 341.4.1 (b) (1) requirement for 5% radiography/ultrasonic on butt and miter welds when doing maintenance/breakdown work when the need is to replace the pipe spool?
Is there another code that I should be looking at for the maintenance on pipe work?
In ASME B31.3 Chapter V Fabrication, Assembly and Erection Section 328.2.2 (g) states that the welding rods for SMAW are selected for the table.
Does this mean that you can only use these rods and you can not use other types? and it also means that the welding procedure has to include these. Or...
