Thanks for your comments I will look into these things. I plan on getting another machine however I am really busy at the moment and don't have time to set up all the programs I use, as it will take me a couple of days, but I would like to get a list of requirements for a new machine from one of...
thanks for all the input guys I really appreciate you trying to help me with this problem, you all gave me a lot to look at and I will get back to you to let you know if I resolved the issue so it might help someone else in the future.
It happens when I have an assembly open and I open a part to modify, I might close that part but not save it because some of my part files are 200 meg and I don't want to take the time to save it if the mod needs to be changed again, I then open the assembly to see if the the modified part...
OK some time back I had a problem with running out of memory, I was advised to look into the 3meg switch, this worked like a hot dam for a while but now it seems to be happening again and I'm not sure why?? The only thing I can think of it that my temp files are getting bigger. How can I check...
well that might happen occasionally however I don't normally rollback the part to modify something unless I want to find out how it was constructed, and like I say even with all the parts saved and exited the assy is still frozen
OK I'll give that a try next time, However I seem to recall this happening on main assemblies that had no sub assemblies, I even closed and saved all the parts related to the assembly and the main assy was still locked. it will not even let me close swx in the program I have to go into task...
I am using swx 2007 and I am having a problem when I go into parts that are in my assy to modify them, Now and again when I click on minimize the part to open the assy to see if my mod worked it come up with "Assy not accessible at this time one or more items in a rollback state", even though...
Thanks for your input Jeff but meanwhile I loaded the 3 gig switch and it works like a hot dam now....... Still gotta figure out why the file is so big seems adding simple draft to the sides of some ribs added 20% to the rebuild and I can't for the life of me think why?? But I'm back in business...
Sorry when I say drawings I meant sld files, the problem I have now is that when I open this file I use 1.64GB of mem and it crashes at 1.68 (not sure why) so I can"t even get in there to check any feature statistics because it says there is not enough mem, I'm thinking I might try re loading...
No a few ribs but nothing serious. I am wondering if my drawing setting have changed and are effecting the size somehow because I have done bigger more complex parts that end up at only 90 meg
Anyone tell me why when I open a 375MB file it ends up at 1.6GB of memory usage in the windows task manager. because if I go higher than 1,68GB my program crashes for lack of memory. I am using a 2007 s/works in XP with 2.5GHz dual proccesor with 4 meg of ram.
