    RF verses RTJ

    tothepoint is right. Good ol SPWD gaskets when over torqued will tend to "curl" and you can see that just by looking at it after bolt-up. If that's the case, throw it out and get a new one.... cheap. RTJ on the other hand will not give you much indication and like the previous post, you will end...

    I've run into the issue of downhand pipe welding (SMAW), using 7018, and the reasons why it's bad, and how some inspectors just don't care. I've usually chalked it up to the skill of the welder, and the circumstances of positions etc. Could someone please clarify for me if there are any code...
