Hi,
I am currently involved in specifying CFRP soil nails for permanent works and GFRP soil nails for temporary works and am trying to locate some case history of simular undertakings for my submission. I would be most grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction.

Hi again,
The purpose of the plate is to create a cone pull out force in the concrete to prevent the plate and bars from pulling out of the pile cap.
The rebar's cannot be bent as would normally be the case due to the brittleness of the steel as it is a high strength bar. normal reinforcing...
Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me with a formula for the following.
I am currently designing an anchor plate for reinforcing bars connecting a pile cap to mini piles. The mini piles will have three no. 63.5mm Dia. high strength reinforcing bars spaced in a triangular arrangement at 104mm c/c...
Hi,
I am currently looking for a material testing facility of building material products that has the capability of conducting destructive tensile tests on reinforcing bar to ASTM A615 /ASTM A370 standard.
The testing machine will need to be of particularly high calibre as the breaking strain...

Hi all,
I will be starting as a project manager for a well established pre-cast company in the next month or so and am looking for any literature, books or advice on standard procedures or practice notes etc. that may be available on this particular subject. The company usually manufacturers...
Hi, I am currently involved in specifying rebar's of grade 550Mpa Yield & 700Mpa UTS for a pile diameter 300mm. The bars to be used are 63.5mm in diameter and there will be three bars per pile. The usual practice here in Hong Kong is to have 4 No. 460Mpa yield 610Mpa UTS bars of 50mm diameter...
First of all thankyou for all the responses I have received to my original inquiry. However the resident engineer has specified a galvanised high strength bar. The bars are passive nails and will not be stressed unless movement occurs within the surrounding ground. I am looking for alternative...
Hi I am currently using MathCAD 2001 and am considering upgrading to MathCAD.11. I have been advised that I will not be able to save my work to Word or other softwares using the latest version.
I would be very grateful if anyone can confirm this. At present I prepare documents, spread sheets...
I have recently started using MathCAD and am trying to produce a stress strain curve using the graph feature.
I have managed to draft a bar chart but am unable to convert this to a flow chart featuring flow lines. can anyone please help.
Cheers Big Bars
I am currently preparing a paper regarding soft eye openings for TBM tunnel launching shafts using FRP reinforcing bars localised in areas where TBM's will penetrate diaphragm walls to exit the shafts. I would be most grateful if anyone could refer me to any case history that may be available...

I am looking to use high strength bars, high carbon bars (835MPa yield +)for ground anchors with galvanised coating for protection but have come across the hurdle of "hydrogen embrittlment".
I am looking for ways of elevating this phenomenon and have learned ASTM A123-89 and BS 729-71...
