    cam drive engine

Thanks for all your input guys. I'm not trying to change the world but was curious about the the efficency of a cam based engine. I've done some vector analysis of a power stroke in a regular engine vs a cam based one and noted a 38% increase in crank torque given all other factors remain the...

    cam drive engine

The geometry between a piston, piston rod and a crankshaft in an IC engine appear to leave a lot to be desired since the gas expansion only acts on the crankshaft in any usable sense for about 35 to 40 degrees of rotation. And never at a 90 degree angle. The side loads etc would have to be...

    pitch link load

Pitch link loads and control system loads seems to be a black subject. If given a naca 0012 airfoil, 2 bladed rotor of 24' diameter with a tip speed of 600fps, does anyone know what the pitch load would be (approx) on a 2000 lb helicopter in a severe pull up maneuver? Or, maybe easier, are there...

    coaxial rotor torque

By changing the method of suppling power to a coaxial rotor system, I can generate from 0 to 125 ft/lbs of torque at the shaft, in either direction, for yaw control. On a copter weighing approx 1600lbs, is this sufficient, for a real world application?
