Weld relifs would simply be base metal buildup. A weld symbol with a half circle bound by the reference line is the standard designator. You would probably need to define extents of buildup in the tail of the symbol. Such as---2 inch long beads on 6 inch centers with so many rows with the...
Use a nickel filler (either rod or electrode)---RN61 or 4N11. I would buildup the area of attachment on the magnet first. Then fillet weld attach the lifting lug welding the lug to the built up area---not to the magnet itself. A preheat of 300 degrees would probably help out.
Silver brazing copper is a good way to go----the pipe must be round----use an expander and a ring collar to expand into. Do not use induction heating---torch only. Use BCuP-5 alloy-----------only use an experienced silver brazer. If no experienced brazer available--mechanize the system. Abrade...
When joining 1018 to Cast Iron--assumming a weldable grade, use RN-61 filler--but pre-clean cast iron by heating to dull red and wire brushing-----then preheat cast iron up to between 700 -1000 F and butter the cast iron in the area of attachment to the 1018 with at least 3/16" thickness of...
