Hi everybody,
I have a question regarding the preload, for Nacelle latches for example.
We usually preload the latches by compressing two surfaces against each other.
The flight loads have to overcome the preload and then the load in the latch increases.
the new fatigue spectrum would be...
ahah I just translated it literally from how it is said in my country.
but thanks for the correction.

Can you find in the SRM what control to apply to find delamination on the panel?
I was thinking that tap test was for disbond, not delamination.
For delamination of plies the first thing that comes to my mind is a Ultra sonic inspection, I think you can do it on large structure but it can take...
lol ok I stop!
I am located in the north east...
I am pretty sure California and Washington would pay more.
I finally got the job I am very excited to begin!
Thanks for your contribution you all

Thank a lot everybody, the interview went well, I am waiting for a response now.
Your info were really helpful, we just talked about a range which was what everybody proposed here. If they choose me we will be discussing salary. Hope I am gonna have an offer.
And rb1957, I dont want to look...
Hi,
I have a question for aircraft engineers, but it's not question about analysis this time.
I am new in this country (US) and I just applied to a job. I have an interview this week. The job fits perfectly with my work experience. It is a position of a stress engineer on aircraft nacelle.
I...
Looking at your first post rb1957, I think this is what has been done.
2.33 is 1t+2*2/3 t. o I think this is done because the shim is not structural and the stress distribution should be only in the external plies, and nothing in the shim.
It is a triangular distribution with an offset due to...
Hi guys, thanks for the replies.
Before responding, I will provide the previous page, I think it can help.

Then, I will add that this is a training, so it is not exactly very...
Hi all,
I am doing a repair engineering training for civil aircraft repairs and I am not sure to understand what is exactly done here.
It is an example to show the influence of a shim between two joined members.
The example assumes a P=2000lbf load transfered from one plate to the other by two...
Airbus would also have been good for the country I think as they would have created a lot of job here (building a FAL, they have an engineering center here and would have a lot of american partners).

And if you still doubt, you can always ask to the SRM owner, and discuss with him if it is contradictory or unclear.
The SRM is updated several times in a year, so if a mistake is found they can correct it.

T/R are rotable parts.
What is the engine? I suppose that if it is an GE 80C2.
Middle River is doing the T/R.
If it is a PW 94" I suppose it would be Goodrich.
You should ask to boeing or the T/R manufacturer to know the interchangeability. As cd27idw said, the manufacturer or boeing should...
