Well...its getting worse.
At this point I don't know what to do. I have tried talking with my main contact. I'm just the low guy on the totem pole.
I was asked to work on a design for this "thing" there were a few other concepts done on it.
I came up with my own idea, just to the conceptual...
I just started a second project as a contractor at an engineering firm.
The first project went fine, a pretty clear list of what needed done.
This second project has been on the books a while with some work being done on it. I'm doing the mechanical work on it. I just started.
The project...
Hello,
I have been doing contract work for the past 9 months. The project I was hired on for is finishing up.
What is the best way to find similar 4-9month contract positions?
Thanks
Tim

If your boss came up to you and said you were going to work 55 hours a week all year on your current 40 hour salary, what would you think?
I have been contracting for the past 6 months. It sure was nice in the summer when the project was slow and I could work on some other projects. Now...

Interesting reading.
I started with Autocad making drawings to get parts made. Eventually I started designing parts and assemblies in Solidworks. After I could do those good I started learning how to make stuff on a CNC mill. Thats where the real education started. Making the stuff you design...
If you are working with others you really need to sit down and come up with a document that explains workflow and standard practices.
I'm living a similar situation. No standard practices. To add to the frustration the computers that they are using are not up to par for the complexity of the...
Thanks for all of the advice.
I talked to my contact and they were not sure. So I sent company B the work for free with a note that I was not charging company A for the time. If they needed more work like it, they would need to work something out with the contact at company A.
