The answer to your question depends on the expected life of the facility and the cost of electricity in your area. We included them in a brackish groundwater design near Phoenix but the project was ultimately shelved due to the housing market and the economy.http:/www.spi-engineering.com
Hi,
My company has work in Australia, where we are evaluating the treatment process for a large reverse osmosis project. An issue came up with the interpretation of the Pressure Vessel Code. I'm not working directly on the project, just following the correspondence. What is the Australian...
You could ask a membrane consultant. I know that Separation Processes inc, of Carlsbad CA (www.spi-engineering.com) has had a lot of experience piloting all types of membrane treatment (MF/UF/NF and RO). Pilot testing point of contact:

Is anyone aware of studies in this field? I have been hitting up the membrane manufacturers and getting very little response.
Thanks in advance.

Off topic, I work on MBR's too, and am a big fan. They make great effluent, which is a good idea if your client is looking to reuse the water.
One thing to be aware of though, MBR has a lot different dynamics than a conventional system, and...

Sometimes, you need to add baffles to a jars to acheive the mixing levels required for proper dispersion of coagulants.
Thanks guys. The vent line has dryers, dilution was considered. This system is going in upstream of an RO facility so iron was a concern. I hadn't considered SS as an alternative although it is definately worth suggesting to the design team.
I have specified a baked phenolic coating for a steel 93% sulfuric acid storage tank. I have been considering switching to a high build flouropolymer lining. We use dryers on the tank vent and the acid will be stored in a conditioned room. Is there a compelling reason to specify the...
