Using the Join feature with Configurations

Thanks CBL, that worked a lot better. Now I have access to the configuration options again. Thank you so much for your help!

I'm running SW2010-SP4. This was a while ago, so hopefully I'm not forgetting a step. Opened the edi top test slant.SLDPRT file Went to Insert->Part Selected transducer.SLDPRT Positioned the transducer housing where I wanted it on the case Clicked Combine, Add then ok and the two parts merged.

So when I go to there, the Configuration drop down is empty, even though there are two configurations in the referenced part (edi top test slant). http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=beab769f-739a-424a-8feb-1ddea9e92df4&file=configuration.png

Apologies, it is a combine. I am not an expert with Solidworks by any stretch of the imagination and it was the first time I had used the features. That said, any insights on how I change the configuration of a part in a Combine? Or do I have to recombine them?

Unfortunately, I don't have that option. Attached is a screenshot of my options. Sorry, probably should've included that from the start. Thanks.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=91cdb121-9f91-4f46-a25b-a1835ef9c51e&file=combinedpart.jpg

Using the Join feature with Configurations

Hi all, I've been searching for a while, but can't find a way to change the configuration of one of two parts that have been joined together. Thanks in advance.
