    Hoop stress in an oval thick walled pipe

    Hello engineering friends, I'm looking for a method to calculate the hoop stress in an oval thick-walled pipe. Other than performing a FEM that is. I came across this paper (http://www.acwhyte.fsnet.co.uk/ovalpipepaper.htm), but as far as I gather this refers to thin-walled pipe work only. Thanks!
