Hi all
I need help. Quick response is highly appreciated. I am currently trying to solve one problem in on production platform. during the well start up gas cap from the well is being bleed off through the flowline manifold and main line to Separator. Gas temperature in well is 6deg C and...
Generally gas water content depends on many process variables. the major one is contact temperature(in many cases -gas temperature and also corresponding glycol concentration. Stripping gas is required for increasing glycol concentration. But still gas temperature is major contributing factor...
Bypass around ESDV for maintenance?? Very Bad practice. If you need to repair the ESDV shut the plant down or stop the equipment. Remember safety(ESDV) first, production is later( i dont what to say even second). I dont suggest to use bypass of ESDV for maintenance purposes.
As i understood gas from tripped compressor discharge line flowed through antisurge valve to compressor suction scrubber. Why compressor should rotate bacwards? For case of overpressure of suction scrubber. You must install bigger PSV which can accomodated 10-15 % of discharge flow(assuming that...
I know a rule of thumb which is debateble nowadays. For liquids scrubber needs to remove liquid droplets above 8microns. Liquid content needs to be lower than 0.1 gal/MMscf. Differential pressure to be less than 0.1 barg. Regarding dust particles, it depends where you will use dry fuel gas for...
Generally DBB is not required only for non-hazardous fluids at the pressure below 1o barg. For all other cases DBB is required. In your case, caustic can be determined as hazardous. and in this case even if it is operating below 10 barg, DBB is required. About work requirement: every company...
I beleive at mach figure of 1 you will definetely have problems with acoustic induced vibration. You can have a rupture in your PSV when it is releiving. This is process safety issue. BP standard is 0.8 for PSV tailpipe.
I am trying to calculate negative pressure which can be created by column of seawater with a height of 3 meters. The pipe configuration is basically inverted U-tube where u-bend located at elevation of 3 meters. Pipe is seawater filled and is open ended with atmospheric pressure at the open...

Thanks for comments. Could you please also advise how can i prevent this issue fro reoccuring. Will be bucking pin PSV be appropriate for this. I looked through option of installation of surge vessel(similar design to pulsation damper) but size required is became enormous. I am...
Thanks gents for good advises. My main question was an i Use Joukowsky formula or not. As i understand this formula describes the condition where valve on pipe outlet is suddenly closed. My case is slightly different. Imagine 8" vertical 100m long line with heat exchanger at the top and gate...
Can anybody help me with issue descibed below.
During introducing of seawater from 14barg pressurized system to another system which at this time is at 1barg, damage to downstream equpment was observed. Our suspect is that damage is created by water hammer. I found a lot of formulas to...
It is easy I think. Booster pump discharge pressure is usually a pressure which equals to NPSHr for PD pump at maximum flow and at PD pump suction. In some cases at design flow. In other words Booster should create pressure on PD pump suction which is equal to NPSHr for maximum/designed flow.
