There is another Web site for free downloading mil specs: http://astimage.daps.dla.mil/quicksearch/. I would suggest download a MIL-HDBK (usually big files) in segments, e.g. from page 1 to page 100, or by chapters one at a time, etc to avoid failures, etc.
