Error due to poor quality elements

Isn't there any way I can run the analysis with this mesh for the time being, because I believe my mesh is fine (the way it is generated)?

Error due to poor quality elements

Hi, I wanted to run a simulation in ABAQUS, but it quits saying the quality of some elements is poor. But, for my purpose, if I need to run the analysis with the very same mesh, is it somehow possible to turn off that error message and continue the analysis? I couldn't find any way to turn off...

    3D Plastic Beam

In "Query Results", there is no option for axial strain. However, I am able to use ETABLE. Thanks for the suggestion. Actually, I have to use it as ETABLE,name_of_table,EPEL,DIR Before, I was thinking that EPELDIR is one (as given in the manual) and was not able to use it. Thank you very much!

    3D Plastic Beam

Thank you very much! Just one more thing. I want to get the axial strains in the beam. It is written as EPELDIR in the output definitions. But, how can I get it, I am not being able to figure out. By using *get or ETABLE or by some GUI, please help me in this.

    3D Plastic Beam

Hi, I want to model a 3D elasto-plastic beam and calculate the axial strains. The Beam4 is described as Elastic beam and Beam24 although named as Plastic, is for thin walled beam. Please help me, which beam I should use. Because, with elasto-plastic properties and Beam4 element, the problem...

    solid 65 input data

Sorry, but could not get what are you asking for. What those numbers in TBDATA indicate? Because, first you have to define a material model you will use by TB command. And, it depends on that model, what the TBDATA values will be interpreted as.

Results at gauss/integration points. Please help. Urgent!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Could you also please tell me, for the mesh convergence check using ENORM, what value of structural error energy and absolute maximum stress variation can be taken as acceptable results. For example in my case, The absolute stress variation is between 0.3 and...

Results at gauss/integration points. Please help. Urgent!

Yes I am using full integration. Can I use ERNORM after getting the solution? Actually, my guide works with another software ABAQUS, where we can get the results at the gauss points. As the results at gauss points are the direct results of solution, she insists to see the results of my...

Results at gauss/integration points. Please help. Urgent!

In element solution, the result is the average of all the gauss points.I am using brick 8 node element. I can't get you on the ERNORM thing. Can you please explain.

Results at gauss/integration points. Please help. Urgent!

But isn't there any other option? This command should be used before solving the problem and I have already solved the problem. And I want to know some method where I can directly see the results at the gauss points, not the nodes or elements.

Results at gauss/integration points. Please help. Urgent!

Hello, Is it possible to get the results at the gauss/integration points directly, instead of the results at nodes or elements (which are interpolation of results at a few gauss points). I need to know this urgently. Thank you very much.

Default value of friction in contact

Got it. Thank you very much!

Default value of friction in contact

Does that mean that by default the contact elements dont have any friction? And for smooth contact I should use the default settings? If not, please tell me the default value of friction present. Regarding TAUMAX, its the maximum shear stress before tha sliding starts. So, with mu=0 and...

Default value of friction in contact

Hi! I want to know what is the default value of coefficient of friction used in the contact problems. It is not specified in the manual. As well as, for defining a smooth contact, it is written to put mu=0. But should I also put TAUMAX =0 for smooth contact? Thankyou very much in advance!

Modelling a circular helical cylinder with a cut

Hello, I want to model a helical circular cylinder(I hope I am clear) with continuum elements. There is, lets say a cut in the cross section which should always face the axis of the helix. I tried it by making an area as required and (VDRAG)dragging it along a helical line (which is locus of...
