    ok, here is my problem.the curved beam with large displacements on converges if i apply on an internal pressure but whn i apply an additional compressive load on the ends of the beam it doesnt converge.any idea as to why? thanks.

    hi..thnx for ur reply. actually there is no free body motionm as one end is allowed to translate in the x-direction alone and constrianed in y and Z while the other end is pinned. its non-linear due to large deflection. Is there any other setting which could resolve this issue?

    ooopss..i found it out..got to go to the command mesh>mesh control> mesh points on surface. i have another question tho.if there are cirlces in my model how do i do an effective quad meshin insteadof tri.right now am gettin weird mesh around the curved region.Thanks.

    GBor, thanks for your reply. I actually found a way to create a circular cut out on a 2 dimensional model. Geometry>curve from surface> project and delete>surface are the commands used for this purpose. Thanks.

    I have used spring element as panel pins in my analysis. But when the .nas file is written it is generating CROD card instead of CELAS2 card which is meant for spring elements. Even the spring property that i have defined is not generated. Can anybody tell me why this is happening. Thanks.
