Thank you. It has been several years since I've dealt with masonry partitions and didn't have a comfort level with the new codes. Apparently, same people that write the tax code wrote revisions for the building code.
There is a formula to height of masonry block wall, ratio of Block width dimension; i.e. 4" block, maximum 6' height. I've forgotten the formula and can't find note within my reference materials for maximum height of 6",8", 12". Can you help?

I want to thank everyone for their responses to my question of concrete testing ratios. Reason I spec tests at middle of truck pour (sidewalks and curbing); I've found "some" contractors feel free to open the water valve after test cylinders taken. And, per one response, projects and...
Have been setting spec for testing (psi and slump) concrete in sidewalks and/or curbing at mid-point per 9-yard truck load. Is this average ratio in the southeast?
Thanks
abeltio, I was hoping people would see the humor in this issue and you did...Enjoy the day. But I am curious, what the heck could they be their alternate use?
Vandals have been stealing the electronic sensors used on plumbing fixtures in our public restrooms. What else can these type sensors be used for that makes them worth stealing?
Control saw joint should be 25% depth of the concrete slab. I would have recommended an expansion joint to have been part of the slab design. Any opinions to suggest yea or nay for this addition?
