    Sinewave filter no load current

The thing is the drive itself is displaying an output current of 70 A. The thing is I know by experience that when I hook up the motor it will run smoothly. I am looking for an explanation as to why it draws this high load when no motor is connected. I am sure it has something to do with the...

    Sinewave filter no load current

Hello everyone. I have a question related to Sinewave filters. I am running a 800 KVA VFD with a Sinewave filter at the output side. The VFD is meant to run a submersible medium voltage 3 ph motor. My question is concerning no load. At no load the VFD reads a load of 70 A, it is my understanding...

VSD outout is erratic in no load test only.

Ozmosis Thank you for the reply. Its very true what u say, once load is applied the imbalance disappears. However this is not only at supply frequency, it's all along the frequency range. I did measure the motor and yes I am using a sine wave filter with motor load of course. I am interested...

VSD outout is erratic in no load test only.

I am using a filtered meter,(Fluke 87), and I also measure from the output of a Sine wave filter so there shouldn't be any distortion there. What's boggling is that any measurement with the V phase in it is erratic. Once load is connected all is well. These equipment take hours to assemble and...

    ESP underload question.

Dear Experts; I have a question concerning ESP. I was told that operating the pump against a closed valve would cause the system to trip on underload. Is there any truth to this? If so, can you offer an explanation as to why this happens? It does make more sense that it trips on overload to...

VSD outout is erratic in no load test only.

Hi all, I have a problem with a VSD at work thats been confusing. I am a field service engineer for an oil service company, my line of work is in electric submersible pumps (ESP). The ESP motor is a 3 phase induction motor. Power here is 380V 50 HZ.We were using a VSD for motor control. The...
