Do connectors work with abaqus explicit (shock simulation)

Do connectos work with abaqus explicit? When simulating shock, i need to know force or acceleration at a point of a connector. I have the feeling that abaqus sometimes add masses on the points of the connectors can anyone help

How do i avoid penetration between two contact surfaces in ABAQUS?

Here is my problem: i have two surfaces in contact and i m evaluating the contact pressures for several coefficient of firctions. For low coefficient of frictions i see a penetration between the two surfaces generating a peak of stress can u tell me how to avoid this penetration? Thank YOU

how to define a radial loading on axisymetric element

I m defining a radial loading of 1000 N on a axisymetric element. i m not finding the same value as reaction forces. Can anyone tell me how abaqus interprets a radial loading ??? How does it also interpret a moment input on such elements? Thank you

Contact overclosure: penetration between mating surfaces

Hi all I m studying the contact between two cylindrical parts to set up contact pressure. However, at some places, i notice (when i put the deformation scale x1000) that the two penetrates each others! i have defined normal behavior-hard contact, and it stills not working any ideas? Thanks...

Blocking the displacement along Z<0 only

    Is there no easier way?????????????

Blocking the displacement along Z<0 only

How can i block the displacement of a surface along Z<0 only and tolerate it along Z>0? As i know, this cant be done in boundary conditions... is self contact the only way or there is an easier way? Thank u all

Blocking the motion along a degree of freedom for Z<0 only

Hi all If for a surface i want to block the motion only along Z<0 and allow it along Z>0, how can i do it? As i know, in boundary conditions its not possible .. Should i used self contact with hard contact in normal behavior? Is there an easier way? Thank you

    TRANSMITTING FORCES

Yes when i say point, i mean a concentrated point...and loading is applied along the three directions.. However, the loading should be transmitted from this point to front and rear arms of a body... And each arm takes a different component the rear arms take only axial loading the forward...

    TRANSMITTING FORCES

i have a point where load is applied and i have to transmit it to two surfaces: front and rear surface however, the front surface takes loading along the three axis (x, y, z) whereas the rear surface takes loading in one direction (x) how can i do it?

blocking a degree of freedom along one axis

can you please give me more details About defining gap element? (in which module, and how do i define it?)

    DISTRIBUTING COUPLING ELEMENTS

Thank you What if i have to transmit loading from a point to a surface? y using coupling elements is not enough

    DISTRIBUTING COUPLING ELEMENTS

i have to transmit a loading to a structure using rigid elements is using the coupling constraint equivalent to rigid elements? And what should i use? DISTRIBUTING OR KINEMATIC? the manual of abaqus is not clear concerning this subject thxs

blocking a degree of freedom along one axis

Hi all In my application i have to block the translational degree of freedom only along the positive axis ( not allowing movement along Z<0) and leave it free along negative axis in other way, allow displacement along z<0 and blocking it along z>0; as i know, abaqus allows only blocking a...
