metengr,
thanks for your post,
I have lots of stuff collected from google about the topic.
and arunmrau has summarized it very briefly.
still my concern is;
which standard specifies the conditions?
Or the specification is only the mechanical properties in ASTM A216 and the heat treatment is up...
Thanks for the reply,
The sealing of the valve is a soft one with PTFE and the ball is hollow. It is not that heavy. And the failure occurs duing the high pressure testing. I guess it is not related with the weight of the ball.
Actually it is almost obvious that different contraction and...
Hi everyone,
I am having trouble with the fire test of big dimension floating ball valves. And I will appriciate your comments if you have an idea about the possible reasons.
The testing of small diameters(DN50) were succesful for both floating and trunnion ball valves.
But when we tried the...
Hi everyone,
I am looking for some comments from someone who has experience on API certification.
I've applied for API 6D monogram certificate in march and still waiting response from API to receive their review. I have received the first review 3 months after my first application and they...
thanks for your attention eddiewdi,
10 months is far from our expectations, and we have changed a lot of plans due to this delay.
Anyway, It's still good to hear that its not related with us.
By the way, our company is located in Turkey.
API officials told me that they will be directing some...

hi everyone,
I have a question related with this topic.
In fact much more simplier then that:)
Is the dynamic torque applied on the disc by the flow, towards the opening direction?
I mean should I get help from the flow while opening a butterfly valve?
thanks a lot...
mticheler made a good point.
If gasket materials are not suitable for fire protection than high quality bolts mean nothing.
I guess purchasing a new set of fire-safe valves might be a better choice in this case.
By the way, 1875 F is very much for estimating the valve body temperature in case of...
Hi everyone,
One of my client has a pneumatic actuator on his DN500 ball valve. The valve is assembled on a natural gas line.
My client wants to use the line pressure to actuate the valve. I already told him about the the pressure reduction needed. Do you have any other comments on this?
Have...
