Waiting for experts thought on this.

Carrier's Hap - Airflow rates in summary report

Yes I did. For Zone airflow sizing, I have selected 'Sum of space airflow rates' and for space airflow sizing I have selected 'Individual peak space loads'. By doing so, I expect the coil L/s to be equal to sum of Individual peak space loads. But the results are different.

Carrier's Hap - Airflow rates in summary report

I need some clarification on following: The 'Air system sizing summary report' generated from Hap software defines different airflow rates in 'central cooling coil data'. They are a)Coil L/s at month/time b)Max Block L/s at month/time c)Sum of peak zone l/s. The 'Supply Fan sizing data' also...

    Cinema Fire protection

Occupancy classification of Cinema comes under Assembly group (A2) as per International building code. You must follow International building code chapter 3 for occupancy classification and chapter 9 for requirement of sprinkler and standpipe systems.

Minimum outdoor ventilation rate during unoccupied time

Thanks Ammanuel, Can you mention which version of Ashrae 62 you are looking at. I have Ashrae 62.1-2007 and I dont find section 6.1.3.1 there.

    Supply airflow Air changes

Thanks Cdxx and RossABQ. Can I put the same question in other way. If I make load calculations for any space and if I get 0.5cfm/sq.ft as the supply air, Do I need to maintain minimum 1 cfm/sq.ft or the calculated airflow is enough. I read somewhere that minimum 1cfm/sqft (5l/s/sqm) is to be...

Minimum outdoor ventilation rate during unoccupied time

Thanx for the response Mr.willard3. Being an engineer my interpretition on Ashrae 62.1 is that ventilation is not required in unoccupied mode and the ventilation system must turn off. I want to know if there is any other standard/code requirement for providing ventilation during unoccupied mode.

VAV maximum and minimum airflow setting

Cdxx /Energyprofessional, what if we schedule the occupancy (time when the zone is occupied) and switch off the ventilation for unoccupied time period. Is this correct according to Ashrae 62.1?

Minimum outdoor ventilation rate during unoccupied time

Ashrae 62.1 describes the minimum ventilation requirements for occupied zones/breathing zones considering the maximum expected occupancy in that zone and zone area. What would be the ventilation rate in unoccupied mode. Will it be calculated same way as for occupied mode considering occupancy to...

    Supply airflow Air changes

Hi everyone. I have a question regarding Air changes in occupied space. I am very much clear on Ashrae 62.1 Outdoor air requirements. My concern is about the total supply air changes that is to be maintained in any space. For example: A room has outdoor air requirement of 210 l/s following...

Omission of Sprinklers in new construction within existing building.

We are following International Building Code. No its not in US. It is in Middle East.

Omission of Sprinklers in new construction within existing building.

There is a college campus (single building with large area) fully protected with sprinkler system. The building has some open spaces (with some tress and plants) where new construction is required. The new construction will be for offices, activity hall, assembly hall etc. How the fire...

    Class II standpipe requirement

As per IBC, minimum condition to have standpipe in a building is occupancy level must be more than 9.1m (30feet).Standpipe requirement given in IBC is only for Class I and Class III type. It does not say when Class II type of standpipe is required. NFPA 14 also states only the locations of Class...
