    The 2006 Addenda was issued on July 1 2006. It is permissive for use untill 1/1/07 when it becomes mandatory. You can use Compress untill the next update from Codeware. The Code effective date for a pressure vessel is the P O date. See the forward of the Code.

    An ASME Designee is a person that represents ASME during a Joint review or Survey. In other words the Team Leader or on a Nuclear Survey a Team menber. I am qualified as both. An Observer is a person that may witness S V testing at a lab or manufacturer.

    Weld reinforcement has nothing to do with efficency. Maybe you are thinking about Section I? Up untill the 1980's you only got 100% when the reinforcement was removed. Review UW 11 and 12.

    The hammer test was taken out of the Code in the early 1950's. I was to be applied only to welded vessels rivited vessels were exempt. Welding was a "new " thing and they didn't trust it.

    TomBarsh: you are correct in the above case 1 spot is all that is required. Some manufactuers don't understand UW-11(a)(5)(b).You would not belive some of the answers I get when preforming a Joint Review.
