Got it. I hadnt thought that they just change the piston size. You read my thoughts! Cool that you worked for Cat!
So if its indeed 5cc I would only be getting 1/2 your 26.8 hp figure right?
Very interesting.
Caterpillar part number is a 333-7828, would you be able to find any information on that through your BR connections? It looks similar to the ones on the page in your link- but has STOR ports for A and B (case drain too) Maybe it was custom built to 5cc for caterpillar? You...
Confident on the pressure displacement and rpm figures- they came from a print sheet of the motor in its rebranded form. I suppose errors do occur but it's an official document. The R number was also provided with those specifications.
Where were you able to find out that it is an A10 series...
Good information, thanks to all.
I was able to dig up one more bit of technical info- the motor is rated for 5000 rpm. 5k rpm would still be workable with a larger sprocket/bar combination.
For what it's worth, i found that the source supplier of the motor is rexroth/Bosch. Part number/model...
Greetings,
I would like to see the thoughts of others on maximum piston motor RPMs. I have a small fixed displacement axial piston motor I would like to use for a hydraulic chainsaw. What maximum RPM would anyone estimate before reliability becomes significantly risky? The motor is 5CC in...
Thanks for the replies! A little familiar with mico products. Not so much the others but good for reference.
Anyways, there are several solutions on the table now, waiting on them to decide what they want to do with it.
Thanks again!
Engineer Tex-
I am backpedalling. I am looking at this way too complicated. I really like your idea with the 1.33 ratio cylinder. Simple.
I wanted to ask you this- I have shuttle valves and check valves on handI attached a crude drawing of what I am thinking. Check valve allows for makeup oil...
Interesting enough, I also found these just now. You got me going on the intensifer idea. It is really simple and self contained, which I like. See below link.

They reciprocate and have built in check valves, eliminating...

Did I just find it? Seems like the adjustment spring is on the wrong side for what I want to do?
See, I thought that's more or less what I needed. I have several calls out, one rep I talked to kept trying to tell me I needed a relief valve and not a reducing valve...
I will look elsewhere. Any knowledge off hand of a brand? It will have to have an adjustment on the pilot actuator to be...
Off road trucks. They don't move fast, brake modifications very feasable and will not jeopardize the trucks safety. Also- the original truck brakes will not be changed at all, they will work as from factory. There are many older trucks set up to use these trailers, and use the aftermarket ECM...
Working on some construction equipment. Basically, a 6 wheel drive dump truck with the bed taken off, and a giant gooseneck trailer hooked to it. Still in setup stages.
The truck has hydraulic brakes that operate on 0 to 1300 psi.
The image is of the trucks service brake valve. A1 and A2 are...
Thanks for the replies, I have answered my mathematical questions by them.
Am I understanding correctly that I can adjust the pump to a certain corner horsepower by adjusting margin? I could size the valve appropriately after figuring the margin/power requirements. The horsepower choices...
