Hi all,
I am going to calculate the OVERTURNING STABILITY for a fixed rood storage tank (supported roof).
In section 5.11.2 (API 650, edition 11), we see:
MDL = moment about the shell-to-bottom joint from the weight of the shell and roof supported by the shell
can anyone tell me how I assume...
Hi all friends
I am calculating for the intermediate wind girder in a open-top storage tank.
the tank needed one wind girder.
Max. height of the unstiffened shell, H1=3.3 m
Height of the transformed shell, Htr=6.2 m
i would like to know, which place should be the girder installed on the...

yes you're right.
but we know the galvanizing is the one of methods for prevention of corrosion, and we do a coating and wrapping on it.
i mean, we do coating twice. one galvanize, second wrapping. if this act is right or not?

Hello everybody,
i have a question about galvanized piping. Can we do Coating and Wrapping (moisture insulation) on the galvanized pipe in underground?
I am thanking for your reply.
yosamitysamm ,
The API 650 doesn't give more detail about rafter design.
Can you tell me which part of AISC gives information about rafters?
and I don't have The Strucutural Engineering Handbook, please give me the address of the Handbook that get it.

Hi
I can disign a potable water tank with D=10 m and H=10 m and with rafter supported fixed cone roof (no girder and no column) and roof slope is 1:16. I want calculate the number and type of rafters that don't fail. Can you help me how do I calculate them? Can you introduce me any book for...
Hi my all freinds,
I am working on designing of a water storage tank with D=10m and H=10m.
what type of supported cone roof should I select?
1) supported cone roof with girder- rafter and column
2) supported cone roof with rafter only
which type of abouve is better and which type is easy for...
Hi dear all,

Many thanks
