Is it possible to disconnect the (added "small" load) and eliminate that possibility? May save some time and give you the necessary information to replace/recal your relaying.

Wanted to thank you all for the replies to the "TEST Block".
FYI It turned out to be:
STATES / MULTI-AMP / AVO INTERNATIONAL
P/N C3-209-K
9 POLE TEST SWITCH.
Your responses as always were/are greatly appreciated and always full of valuable info. I would have liked to have seen an Eng. Tips...
Thanks dpc:
I was in the Turbine Supervisory Panel looking at the existing "TEST Block" this morning and saw "States MultiAmp" (now Megger) on the cover. I'm very familure with MultiAmp but first time for "STATES". Thanks for your help. I think our Procurement Engineering might have the Model...
Looking for a "TEST BLOCK".
Tried to GOOGLE GE Global Model NO. 1721-484 and can't seem to locate. Block has a combination of 3 single pole and 3 double pole switches. Device is used for isolation of Main Generator current (CT's)inputs to NEXIS System for trip logic. The Test Block has been used...
The RTD's are "part of the motor" which is explosion proof. If a failure to a/the winding should take place at a position occupied by the RTD it would be in the Hazardous area as waross pointed out. (Motor, Equipment Room, etc.) The RTD conductors are also located inside the Haz area and have to...
Additional comments to all the well stated positions above. Most arc flashes in Switch Gear are the result of improper and negligent "Pedictive/Peventive" Maintenance. Design for Bus Outage Maintenance is/has (in the past) been neglected for economic reasons "I suppose". Even if you install arc...
Assuming the Motor has thermocouples at the bearings and you didn't mention any evidence of bearing temperature problems, the slinger ring and oil are performing their desired function. I agree with the contamination issue mentioned above. The rebuild shop probably cleaned the bearing journals...

gary071,
I agree with tinfoil in that "Fiber Optic cables are easily damaged". Consideration to installation "pull by's and/or pulling with" other types of conductors (power cables) could damage some of the fiber conductors as well as the bend radius for fiber cables should be taken into...
alehman,
You've been around, documentation is everything. Clean Power costs but its worth it.

Hellow from the nuclear industry.
Keith, the price you saw sounds like what the nuclear industry pays for a Safety Related (Class 1E) Single Phase 20 Amp Breaker. A little humor from the nuclear industry.

gwalk,
If you or your company (which ever owns the motor) is financially able I would pursue sending the motor out to a motor shop for rebuild or purchasing another 10hp motor. 2 weeks is a long time for a motor to be "1/2" under water. The rotor needs to be pulled and cleaned, the stator needs...
westmc,
You said that the motor tripped on start (1/10 second?) after it ran. I'm not sure it ran, other than the inrush moved the rotor. I'm assuming it tripped the supply breaker on instantaneous. If that is correct, it tripped at the supply breaker, so that rules out overloads.
If I am...
westmc,
You need to go back to the beginning. Look at the source voltage (make a voltage check). If the motor will not operate and you have the correct voltage (all three phases)search for the electrical and "mechanical" integrity of your starter and control circuit. Control transformer, fuses...
Just wanted to thank you "itsmoked, jraef, waross, for your many valuable comments. I always see your handles leading comments for various posts in the Forums, and am ever learning. I have worked in an antiquated industry "Nuclear Pwr. Generation" for 27 years now and the technology is mostly...
