    Monitoring solenoid valves

mksoucy, You don't really need a limit switch for solenoid valve to determine whether it is open or close, unless valve is defective. Energised or deenergized status can be already interpreted as open or close or vice versa. 209larry

High Glycol Losses in TEG Dehy Unit

TEG dehydration is really a problematic process and requires close monitoring. Some already have shutdown facilities especially offshore. Pressure swing adsoption(PSA) is becoming popular as an option to TEG. Aside from moisture, PSA can remove Nitrogen and CO2 in an unmanned stations. 209larry

    Rupture Disc Application?

rcontractor, Maybe you should change your transducer. Check what is the signal output and inquire from other pressure transducer vendor. You might find a specification that matches your requirement. Maybe a pressure transmitter can do the job. rgds, 209larry

Use of a Control Valve as a flow meter??

leggy, You can use control valve to measure flow if you have critical flow condition and there is no phase change which I think is not possible since you have saturated condition. An alternative is to relocate your US flow meter way below your vessel to prevent gas breakout. Three to four...

    Two-phase centrifugal pump design

LPHS, You require multiphase pump of screw type not centrifugal pump. The pump is designed to function as compressor and pump. Regards, 209larry

    Oil in Water emulsion specialists

Chowles, Crude oil with high asphaltene content has a high probability of having permanent emulsions. Asphaltenes are usually in cluster formations with resins and oil. Asphaltene clusters when crushed and opened by mixing or by passing thru chokes, orifice and control valves, attracts...

    Exporting coordinates to a database

cessna98j, You can extract blocknames, coordinates and other attributes using ATTEXT to a text file in comma delimeted format *.cdf or space delimited format *.cdf which you can convert to spreasheet or database format. You have to prepare a template which will include BL: X , BL: Y and Bl: Z...

    P&ID

Fritzfrederix, P&IDs in Autocad with well-engineered block attributes(visible and invisible) can save up to 65% of detail engineering manhours and gives a better accuracy than 'manually' cross-referenced construction drawings and documents. With a mouse click you can retrieve and generate...

    Control Valve Actuator Selection

mborges, Depends on the manufacturer you want. Fisher and Masoneillan will offer you diaphragm actuators while Valtek, Bettis, rotork, hytork will offer you piston actuators. Manufacturers have the right models for you. What matters are cost, delivery and previous experience with the control...

Level Meas with foam over liquid?

FixerMan, K-tek has new level sensor wire rope radar type which they claim that foam, dirt, etc have no effect on measurement. The rope can be cut on site to suit requirement. The rope can be of stainless steel and other exotic metals. 209larry

    Radioactive Level Measurement

GGmurphy, If vessel is to be constructed, load cells is a good alternative to radio active level transmitters. rgds, 209larry

    Oil in Water emulsion specialists

chowles, Emulsions are actually asphaltenes, and not formed by mixing oil and water. It structure contains oxygen, nitrogen and sometime sulfur. You cannot separate as oil and water. These are the characteristics of your reservoirs. The only way to combat these is reduce flowrates from the...

Oily Water Separation On Board Ships.

Lis, Ozonation and hydrogen peroxide treatments , followed by filtration have been found effective in oxidizing both single, double and triple bonds H-C including aromatic hydrocarbon. As long as bromate formation is not a problem they are good treatment solutions. They are use to disinfect...
