Does anyone have experience geting a valve to to stop oscillating?

All, I do appriciate everyones opion and advise, I understand IsrealKK that the finite details of my situation will not be solved through this or probably any other forum, however I do not believe that is what forums like this are most useful for. btrueblood and MikeHalloran were both...

Does anyone have experience geting a valve to to stop oscillating?

Sorry, I forgot to upload the image...http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=7dd5b775-8c95-47c4-a208-30f91aee9dd7&file=Valve_Core.pdf

Does anyone have experience geting a valve to to stop oscillating?

I have attached a draft of the valve core. The pressure is applied to the right side of the valve. The pressure pushes on the pin, and opens the cup on the left side of the valve. The spring creates a compression force on the stem which causes it to close when the dP between upstream and down...

Does anyone have experience geting a valve to to stop oscillating?

I have a valve core that is oscillating durring a "flowing" condition, I can not have this in my system. It is obvious that the oscillation comes from the spring characteristics of the valve core. The question I have is... do all check valves use springs? What other small economical options...

    Faulty Reed Switch

Well, the welded reeds was the correct answer. I found a potentiometer this morning that was shorting in the circuit and causing the failure. Through testing I could repeat the effects consistently...the conclusion is that we shouldn't nessisarily buy from the cheapest bidder!!! Thanks for the...

    Shorted Reed Switch

Well, you guys were right! I found a faulty potentiometer in the circuit that was sending current spikes down the line...thus welding the paddles in the reed switch together. Thanks for the input 1BrickShort

    Shorted Reed Switch

I have a reed switch that has been working properly for multiple cycles, then out of the blue it is showing a short circuit. The reed switch itself has been soldered to a circuit board and embeded in epoxy, so I do not have the luxury of being able to physically touch the switch or board. Has...

Trying To Mix A Power Drive Screw With Vibration?

Well, unfortunately I can not add friction due to my power consumtion and operating time requirements of the system, but I could change the pitch of the thread. That is a good idea. What do you mean when you say axial compliance? I am not very familiar with vibration experiments or...

Trying To Mix A Power Drive Screw With Vibration?

I have a 1/4-20 ACME thread power drive screw that is exposed to high amounts vibration, and right now it keeps back driving on me. There is a spring loaded mass that is "bouncing" off of the face of the nut and causeing the screw to back drive. The efficiency of the threads is -.625ish, and...
