All I can say is that I'm sorry you have V12 and didn't wait long enough to get V13 instead. While not the worst program I've ever used, V12 has problems. I recently got V11 on my computer and it is a lot better.

Why not use LRFD composite design? The difference in results are extreme and it's also really easy to understand, unlike Allowable Stress Dinosaur's composite design, as illustrated by this thread. ;)

No clue in general, but I know only one engineer who has his MBA. He wishes he would've gotten what he calls a "real master's degree." In his opinion (and my observations too, for what they're worth), his MBA didn't do squat for him. I doubt that this is always true, just my limited experience...

Look at the new AISC Specification which is a free download. It includes updated information for single angles. One key issue is that many of those weird eccentricities can be ignored in many cases. So much for the new Spec being all bad!!!

Both programs will give you shell forces, but I think CSi's idea is for you to use SAFE for design. You can directly export from ETABS to SAFE. Their watch & learn tutorials are great for getting started.
