habitually we fabricate Clamp Ferrule using Rod Bar SA-479-316 for 4" dia. and less, UG-14(b)does not accept this material for 6" dia.I think to use piping material: SA-312-TP316 , So I can machine 6" pipe Sch80 to obtain 6" ferrule.IS IT CORRECT TO USE THIS MATERIAL...

if you have to design pressure vessel to negative pressure, it means : external pressure , so you have internal (+) and external(-),
generaly we say designing to full vaccum it means: External pressure of 14.5 psi,
