On similar machine we drilled holes close together in conjunction with the slitting action of an 8inch cutoff wheel , on an angle grinder, and broke it,with a sledge
Good Luck
Hey RD I had one too the 400
In some lab equipment 304 and 316 SS parts become magnetized just because of use
Now,, its out of the question to heat these parts for reasons of distortion
Is there any other way to demagnetize this lab equipment other than using heat
Thanks
An impressive little piece
Anyone know any details
I heard they are about 7inch dia and transmit 900 HP ceramic on steel my guess
Any clue on spring pressure ????
Thanks
They only work once at the start so I guess thats why they are small
I heard the pistons were 62% berylium aly
WOW
Can I get a ballpark meaning of this process
Its just heat and squeeze of the molten metal as it sets assuring hopefully zero porosity in castings ?????????
Thanks
Am looking for a casting to hold a very high vacuum
Would it be OK to get a test piece of this cast Matl say 150mm dia and test it vacuum wise, to 10 to the minus 9
Would this accurately represent a 400mm square chamber ?????????
Thanks
Were busting teeth in service
Tested them at 60 Rc,,, so I tempered them at 450C back to 48Rc
Boss flew off handle,,, said they are too soft now
Please advise
My estimate is that 48 is not too soft
Gear mat,l unknown
When wirecutting parts from 8 thou SS Shim in a Can I find they are slightly magnetic
Is there any heatreatment I can use to demag them
Im thinking just a straight anneal will do it
Clamped between metal to stop distortion
Thanks
A colleage said a Demagnetizer wont do it on SS ????????
Chamber approx 400mm square, 316 SS, Wall thickness Approx 30mm
I need a very high 10 to the minus 9 torr vacuum
Somebody has said they can cast it with zero, porosity!!!!!
Is that possible without casting it in a vacuum ?
You have to avoid welds with a vacuum this high too
What would be...
In mass spectrometers under Vacuum you try to build in the minimum amount of welds, you try and make parts (from solid Stainless that is )
One prob is you may have a tiny leak thru a weld, another is you may have welding gas, from the weld, escaping into the vacuum
My question
Can you...
