Feature Driven Component Pattern

Feature Driven Component Pattern

Feature Driven Component Pattern

(OP)
Does any one know if a feature driven component pattern can be driven from a 'Body-Move/Copy' feature?

RE: Feature Driven Component Pattern

I doubt it - best way to find out is to set up a test model and find out.

A Body-Move/Copy is just copying the Geometry and not really defining it. Test it and see.

Let us know what you find out.

RE: Feature Driven Component Pattern

Why not use the linear pattern feature to copy the body instead of the Move/Copy function? Then you could use the pattern to drive a component pattern.

It doesn't allow the body to be patterned, so I tried to pattern the required features and got this message.

LPattern1: Warning: Some feature instances are disjoint and will not be created. Use the Bodies option to mirror/pattern distinct bodies.

This is why I have to body-move/copy.

Thanks anyway.

RE: Feature Driven Component Pattern

In the Linear Pattern feature manager, look for the box with the header "Bodies to Pattern".  The body needs to be in that box instead of in Features to Pattern.  This is what that message is trying to tell you.
