How do EDS files work with RSNetworx?

How do EDS files work with RSNetworx?

How do EDS files work with RSNetworx?

(OP)
When I add devices (AC Drives) to a DeviceNet network 1769-SDN scanner scanlist, I don't get a chance to pick which "Input" and "Output" assembly options to use. The EDS files in this case have Input1, Input2 and Input3 as available choices, along with corresponding Output# entries.
I want to use a different Input setup in order to read drive fault codes but can't find a way to select that choice from the choices listed in the EDS file.
I'm using RSNetworx 4.12.00 (Buiild 1) with the scanner in a Micrologix 1500 LRP, and trying to add both Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi drives to the network.
I've already spent days checking this out, plus a lot of time researching Explicit Messaging in case I can't get it to work with the Polled I/O. But it will take me a really long time to get an Explicit Messaging program working reliably!
Please help me get the Polled I/O to enable me to use the alternate classes and instances that are already described in the EDS file and the DeviceNet Object Maps for the drives.

Thanks,

Doug
