Pneumatic Time Delay Valves

Pneumatic Time Delay Valves

Pneumatic Time Delay Valves

(OP)
A supplier is specifying some pneumatic time delay valves to secure air for a pneumatic system I am working on. Not being too familiar with these valves, there is some concern of accuracy, cleanliness requirements, and life issues. For life I am more concerned with deterioration over time, than cycle failures. We are getting some information from our supplier but I would like see if there was any experience on the board with them. I am most interested in any failures. The units we are looking at come from a company called Pneucon. Thanks in advance.

Clean dry instrument air is an OXYMORON.

RE: Pneumatic Time Delay Valves

I am not familiar with Pneucon but have found the most accurate Time Delays with the greatest repeatability use a diaphragm or bellows loaded by a pneumatic piston and returned to the start position by an adjustable flow control. I have seen this type control on electrical time delays shifted by a solenoid.

Telemechanique (Parker now I think) is one I am familiar with.
