LDD database/drawings

(OP)
i need to know if there is a good way to handle this. we are running LDD 2004. here is the situation:
we have two departments that will work on the same project. the planning dept. needs to have things a certin way but while they are doing this the construction dept. is working on the same thing. we have one directory where the ldd database files are kept. the drawing files are in diffrent directories but will refrence the same database. should i have two projects with two database's (i would rather not) i should note that we do a fixed path for the work drawings.
-thanks

RE: LDD database/drawings

Hey deep6,

I know that this may be a huge investment, but, have you looked at Autodesk MAP? I am currently working for a phone company that uses it with a database. They can have several engineers accessing the database AS WELL AS accessing the SAME drawing concurrently. I know it sounds kind of freaky, but it works. Also, the engineers are set up with view only stations so they can get info. but not change anything.

May be worth a look...

Hope this helps,
Paul
