(OP)
Hi There

Our Waste Water Treatment Plant recollect all drains from coal power plant incluiding septics, the treatment is coagulation, floculation, clarification and finally continuos sand filter, lately we have a lot of shut-downs of our sand filter, sand specification says 0.8 to 1.2 mm in size of grains, analisis of our sand is 30% less than 0.6 mm, another quality of sand was refilled into the filter, I would like to know what is the quality beside of the size of the sand? (this kind of sand filters is commonly known like Dynasand filter).

Bye

RE: SAND SPECIFICATIONS

What about the uniformity coefficient (Cu)?  It would indicate on average how uniform is your sand-.  Have you tried with anthracite or another medium?  What about the filtration rate?  Are you sure that physical-chemical treatment is efficient?...

Thanks for your answer, we will change all the sand of the filter for another kind, answering your questions is that all parameters are inside of specifications, but I need to check CU too, it was really nice information to me.
