Updating temporary view files In PDMWorks vault

Updating temporary view files In PDMWorks vault

(OP)
In our drawing titleblock I created an annotation linked to the status(Life Cycle Status) custom property in the part being referenced.  Once everything gets vaulted, we update the life cycle from "P"(prototype release) to "R"(production release).  When we do this, we update all the children referenced under the top level assembly.  At this point the engineering involvement with this assembly is pretty well done.  The production floor and line leads now access these documents and print out working drawings through the web portal.  Since the drawings have not been opened and checked back in since the life cycles have been updated, the print outs of the drawing still reflect the old life cycle status "P" even though the vault tree says it is "R".  I don't want the engineers spending their time opening and revaulting a hundred drawings just to capture the lifecycle update every time we do this.  Is there a solution in API that could do this update for me?  Please advise.

RE: Updating temporary view files In PDMWorks vault

There is the function ModelDoc2::Rebuild in the SW API, but I'm not aware of anything that would do that for you in the PDMW API.  Are your production people doing an e-Drawings view of the web portal info, or are they actually downloading it and viewing it in SolidWorks?  If they are doing the latter, they should see the most up-to-date info; otherwise they'll be  seeing what was stored last time the drawing was checked into the vault.

The production group is viewing the native SW files through edrawing viewer in the web portal
