Need a way to station straight line

Need a way to station straight line

Need a way to station straight line

I am using LDD / Acad 2002 program. Using the Alignment commands I have tried to figure out how to get it to spit out stations along a straight polyline at vertices I have created along the way. Let me explain:
I am trying to figure out how to get LDD to station san sewer laterals. All it seems to recognize are arcs and tangent points. Is there a way to make it label vertices (or endpoints) along straight polylines?

If not, does anyone have a subroutine that will do this? Thanks in advance!

How bout you Lothar? You seem to be the guru around here, lol!

RE: Need a way to station straight line

Hi SouthernDrafter ,

thanks for the flowers, but I'm not a guru, I'm only an user between dusk & dawn .

But You didn't get an answer yet. Maybe the problem ist not clear?
Do You want to measure the endpoints of a line?
Send a *.dwg to me with an example of Your problem...

Don't know if a dwg would make it any clearer really. It's like when you tell LDD to station a road c/l, it only places stations at PC's and PT's. I need it to place stations at end points that I pick that remain on the same bearing of a straight line. When I pick this line, the grips all light up along those endpoints, so you would think LDD could be set up to station those points....but so far, can't find anything to tell it to do that- it just keeps looking only for deviations from the line (bearing).

Suppose you have a polyline that is straight (all one direction) but there are lateral lines protruding at 90 d. in both directions. I need stations placed along those lateral lines. I'll try to figure out a way to show you, if this is not clear.

thanks for responding, BTW.

RE: Need a way to station straight line

Hi,
I don't know of a way to make LDD automatically station a vertex (although it would be handy) but we usually use the station offset - label command (under the alignment pulldown) to label sewer lateral stations.
