Dear Friends,

I m Looking after A HVAC project in a hospital  , we installed three gas fired LG absorbant chillers. I have three gas engines from where i can get free steam or hot water. My management would like to use heat recovery from engines for hospital but i m unable to find the utility of heat recovery. Is there any suggestion where i can utilise recover heat from gas engines.

I also need to knw technical details about gas fired absorbtion chillers. Is it possible to convert any one chiller to steam or hot water.

Thanks

RE: HAVC plant

Try Trane Chillers or Carrier. They make absorption cillers and might be able to help you. (Both US companies)

RE: HAVC plant

No Absorbtion chillers are a breed apart.  you can NOT make any chiller and absorber.  When I first came into the buisness 30 years ago absorbers were rare and all R-717 [ amonia] now the new ones are Lithium Bromide.

RE: HAVC plant

It can be done and infact I saw some conversions also. This is not at all advisable if you don't have waste heat but in your case this is ok.
