Minimum Gas plant turn down

Minimum Gas plant turn down

Minimum Gas plant turn down

(OP)
Hi guys,

A quick one. Please what is the
minimum turn-down of a typical turbo-expander gas plant.  If a gas
plant is designed for 100MMSCFD ,say, can it be turned
down to 10MMSCFD (10 % of the designed capacity) or
0MMSCFD for that matter.

please i will appreciate you urgent response.

Buchi

RE: Minimum Gas plant turn down

gas processing is not my field of work, so treat the numbers mentioned by me with great care, but i never heard of a maximum turndown to 10% of nominal throughput. normally, we calculate to 40 or 50 % of nominal throughput.

hth,
chris

RE: Minimum Gas plant turn down

at lower plant capacities, the concern is the amount of recycle (compression) and whether or not low temps can be achieved at lower turbo-expander capacities.
