Holding charge for short period of time

Holding charge for short period of time

Holding charge for short period of time

(OP)
Hello guys
I have a 12V Motor, what i would like to do is have some kind of capacitor or something else that will hold the charge for about a second or two, so when I press a button that capacitor will receive a charge and supply the motor with 12v for a short period of time while the button is depressed.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

RE: Holding charge for short period of time

A capacitor won't run a motor for long!  I suggest you connect your momentary switch to a small low current relay with a 1,000 to 4,700uf capacitor on the coil.  That will hold the relay in for a second and let the relay contacts power the motor.

RE: Holding charge for short period of time

Use solid state switch with much smaller C.
