MAWP of a 2" schedule 40 NPT pipe

Hi,

I am looking for a standard for MAWP for threaded pipe. A methoed of calculating this pressure would be great also.

RE: MAWP of a 2" schedule 40 NPT pipe

What type fittings are you concerned with, forged fittings or the common cast variety?
What temperatures are you concerned with?

The fitting is a metering device with the end that are 10mm wall thickness. The device is made form bar stock 316 stainless steel. The temperature rating fopr the device is -35 to 120 degrees celcius. The device is primary used for metering natural gas.

MAWP of pipe varies according to the piping code you are building the system to. Each code has a slightly different method for calculation of MAWP.
Judging from your description, it could be any one of the following piping codes, depending on what your system is used for and where it is located :
ASME B31.1  "Power Piping"
ASME B31.3  "Process Piping"
ASME B31.8  "Gas Transmission and Distribution Piping"
ASME B31.9  "Building Services Piping"

I agree with ytse.
Also add Title 49 CFR parts 190-195
