Who's symbol is circled "UN"

Who's symbol is circled "UN"

We have a callout on a drawing that needs to be verified, but those involved in the program do not know exactly where to look.

The logo is a "U" over "N" within a circle.  This logo is followed by the text "1A2/Y12.8/S/96 USA/+BD0138"

I'm having a brain-fart and can't remember who's logo that is.  Beyond that, can anyone decifer the meaning of the code?  Or point me to the location of the logo's owner where I can look up the standard(s) myself - which I would prefer to do.

Thanks,

Figures I'd find the answer right after I posted here.

As suspected, the logo stands for the Unitied Nations.

The entire callout referes to the "United Nations Performance Oriented Packaging."  I believe the codes refer to the types of tests performed and the results.  I'm still clarifying those details.

RE: Who's symbol is circled "UN"

Most the codes are in transportation of dangerous goods regulations. I got some from of your code from the IATA manaual: 1A2 stands for Steel drum with removeable head. Y is for group i & ii packaging. 12.8 will likely be the weight in Kgs. S is for solid, 96 will be year of man., USA is the manufacturing state and the rest is a manufactur's code.
Your best bet is to know exactly what is being shipped and either get hold of the regs or contact someone familar with shipment of DG.
