Please let me know which is the commercial name for polyethylene terephthalate? Which is the basic chemical reaction to produce PET?

There are alot of trade names for PET... one company we bought off of before is eastman.  www.eastman.com ; I think they are merging or becoming veridian??  But you can contact them for information on PET's

Mylar (Dupont), Dacron, Skotch-Pak (3M) and Tinuvin are some related names with different grades.  Check out http://yarchive.net/chem/pet.html. ; Do a search on Goggle and you will get lots of names.
